Harmonic has more than doubled its quarterly profit posting $11.9 million (€8.35m) in the quarter to September 28, on the back of a 31% increase in sales.
The Sunnyvale, California tech company has struck recent deals with SES Americom’s IP-PRIME IPTV distribution platform and Portugal Telecom. There has also been success with for the recently acquired Rhozet unit, which has supplied its transcoding technology into the Yes video on demand service in Israel.
Harmonic is forecasting its combined sales for the fourth quarter of 2007 and the first quarter of 2008 to be between $155 million and $165 million.
Separately, the company said it plans to conduct a 12.9 million share issue of common stock.
