Social networking website MySpace will today premiere the first episode of Roommates, a made for web TV show that follows the lives of four women in their 20s that live together in Los Angeles. The three minute episodes will be released Monday to Friday through until December 21. The first episode can be seen tonight at 20.00 GMT.
Viewers will be able to influence the direction of the show through the use of a polling tool that will seek viewers’ opinions on characters and plot developments. The storylines will be changed based on the information left on the site, though producer Iron Sink already has already pre-recorded a number of episodes.
Previous shows including YouTube’s LonelyGirl15 and Bebo’s KateModern have developed strong followings by teenagers and the broadcast press.
Roommates is being sponsored by the Ford Focus, which will be featured in a number of episodes.
