German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat1 is to scrap 200 jobs. In Berlin 120 people will have to go at Sat1 and a further 80 people in Munich. A ‘social plan’ has been drawn up for the job cuts in Berlin. This involves both not renewing contracts and asking people to resign in return for additional leaving benefits. No details about the job cuts in Munch have been announced. ProSiebenSat1 has to make the cuts in order to help finance the takeover of SBS Broadcasting.
