MIPCOM 2007 – CANNES. Both CNN International and EuroNews have announced that they have joined YouTube for free-to-web viewing of some of their content. CNN will make various short news clips available, while EuroNews will contribute its ‘No Comment’ items to the online video service.
In addition, CNN International will also make news clips available on two other online video websites – Joost and Dailymotion. CNN’s parent, Turner Broadcasting, will also offer selected material from its ‘Adult Swim’ property on Joost for free distribution. According to the broadcaster, having been available for some time on the US version of Joost, this is the most popular item from the company. Turner will also make clips from TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and Nuts TV available on Joost in Europe.
In a related move, MTV Networks in Germany has also announced in Berlin that it has launched the MTV Deutschland channel on Joost with German language content.
