Kirkcaldy-based MGt is to provide subscriber management services to the broadband TV operator Inuk as the company prepares to take its service beyond the student halls of residences. The five-year deal includes technical support, software and customer billing.
Inuk’s Freewire TV service offers subscribers a mix of free-to-air and premium channels direct to the customer’s PC. The company so far has 100,000 subscribers and through a £70 million deal with Cable & Wireless is looking to extend to the general population. At IBC Inuk dermonstrated a virtual set-top box that ran on a standard PC.
Founded in 1998 as a breakaway by former employees of Sky Subscriber Services, MGt also has business with Setanta Sports, Top Up TV and Virgin Media.
