ITN On is to supply news, entertainment and sports content to the Joost broadband TV platform. The package of UK, world, sports, business and showbiz news will be updated throughout the day and also includes a new weekly programme entitled Movie Buff. A weekly sports news bulletin, Sports Fix, and daily football show EPL are also included.
ITN On managing director Nicholas Wheeler said that ITN’s programming was a good fit with the broadband TV platform: “Joost is undoubtedly spearheading the way in making this exciting new phase of television a reality so it is great to have the chance to work alongside them.”
ITN is the news supplier for commercial broadcasters ITV and Channel 4. Its ITN On division has pioneered the supply of news to mobile platforms, first launching in the UK with 3 in 2003.
