Spanish Broadcasting System of Miami, Florida, has signed a deal with Intelsat for distribution of its Mega TV network programming to cable operators, direct-to-home (DTH) providers and free-to-air affiliates throughout the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Under the agreement, Spanish Broadcasting System will use Intelsat’s complete network of satellite, teleport and fibre. SBS will transport its Mega TV content via fibre to one of Intelsat’s Miami video points-of-presence, from which the content will be backhauled via fibre to Intelsat’s Ellenwood, Georgia Teleport for encoding, multiplexing and transmission on Intelsat’s Galaxy 13 satellite at 127.0 degrees West.
