A contract between UTI Systems and Bucharest City Hall leading to the creation of an underground fibre-optic network in the Romanian capital is likely to be signed by the middle of this month, according to local reports. Known as the Netcity project, the €200 million network will eventually be used by cable operators and ISPs. Once completed in 36 months time, the network will be leased to UTI Systems for 49 years and produce an average annual revenue of around €35.5 million.
