According to ZenithOptimedia, Serbia is likely to have the world’s fastest-growing ad market between 2006-9, with four other CEE countries also appearing in the top 10. However, its projected expansion (308.8%) will easily dwarf that of Russia (108.3%), Ukraine (100.5%), Moldova (97.1%), Belarus (96.8%) and Romania (93.0%). The region as a whole is also expected to post the world’s highest ad growth figure this year (18.3%), before falling back slightly in 2008 (17.6%) and 2009 (17.7%). Significantly, ZenithOptimedia also predicts that the Beijing Olympics will boost world TV ad spend to its highest share ever (38.2%) in 2008 and that Internet spend will continue to increase steadily. By 2009, the latter is likely to account for 9.5% of total world ad spend.
