Orange have announced the appointment of Patrick Roussel as head of partnership development in France. Roussel reports to Louis-Pierre Wenes, senior executive VP in charge of Operations for France, and will manage operator partnerships, brand licences and new services for the Orange Group in France.
Roussel joined the France Telecom Group in 1994 and worked on international activities for nearly 10 years. In 2003, he joined Orange to develop the virtual operator market in France. He was appointed head of the mobile wholesale market in late 2005, and six months after leaving the Group to head the Telecom and Media Division at Microsoft, he returned to France Telecom.
Roussel has a post-graduate diploma in Banking and Finance from the University of Paris 10, Nanterre. Prior to 1994 he was a consultant on telecom operator privatisation operations for international financial institutions.
