TIHANY, HUNGARY. HCA/HCTA Conference. The Hungarian alternative telco Invitel plans to launch an IPTV service by the end of this year. Speaking exclusively to Broadband TV News, product manager Agnes Borisz said it would initially offer 77 TV channels in basic, extended and several thematic packages, as well as a VOD library of 100 titles. The service will come as part of a triple play offer and be initially rolled out in parts of the country where Invitel, which is part of HTCC, has exclusivity. Invitel currently has over 100,000 ADSL subscribers and aims to secure 15,000 IPTV customers by mid-2008.
