Zeinal Bava is to step down from his post as head of Portugal Telecom’s cable TV division PT Multmedia to become the deputy chief executive of PT. 41 year old Bava has been named as the chief executive designate of Portugal Telecom in a move that is expected to take place after a general shareholders meeting scheduled to be held in the spring.
Henrique Granadeiro, who had been acting as both chief executive and chairman of Portugal Telecom during the takeover bid made by rival Sonaecom, will remain as chairman.
Bava’s replacement at the cablenet is Rodrigo Costa, the former head of PT Comunicações, the group’s fixed network division.
