The German monopoly authority, Kartellamt, has given the go ahead for the cooperation between T-Mobile, Vodafone and O2 for the rollout of mobile TV in the country. The three operators plan to use a common DVB-H network but will each have their individual offers.
The authority has posed some conditions on the cooperation. Reception must be made possible on other mobile receving equipment than mobile phones and receivers which are capable of both DVB-H and DMB should be allowed by the three operators, as well as video streaming over UMTS networks.
