According to local press reports, preparations are underway for a Walloon DTH bouquet in Belgium. The new service would offer the public channels from RTBF as well as the commercial RTL-TVi channels. Talks have been going on with TV Vlaanderen, the Dutch language Belgian DTH platform. The company’s CEO Kurt Pauwels declined to comment.
At present there is no dedicated French language DTH platform available to viewers in Belgium. Officially, they can only subscribe to the international DTH offer from ABSat, but an unknown number of households are believed to have access to the French CanalSat bouquet using a French mailing address for their subscription.
