The Czech transmission company Radiokomunikace has indicated its willingness to have the analogue switch off date put back from the end of 2012 to 2014. Quoted in the local press, broadcasting services director Martin Roztocil said that the current target may be unrealistic, taking into account the problems recently experienced in Finland, where some 100,000 homes were left without TV services following switch-off. The Czech Republic is undertaking the transition to digital broadcasting on a region-by-region basis, with the first to turn off its analogue transmitters being Domazlice at the end of last month.
