IBC 2007 – AMSTERDAM (UPDATE) Entriq has said that BSkyB will use the company’s services for its online delivery platform.
Entriq says that customers with a connection of 2 Mbps or greater will be able to download movie content in as little as 15 minutes. An entertainment show can be ready in between 10 and 15 minutes.
A spokesman for BSkyB told Broadband TV News that the broadcaster would now “have the opportunity to experiment with offering paid for content through Sky.com’s portfolio of websites, outside of – and in addition to – the Anytime on PC desktop application”.
Entriq’s speciality is in the management of the security and commerce. BSkyB, will be making separate DRM arrangements, and currently uses Microsoft for the online version of its Sky Anytime download service. Entriq’s software will go onto authenticate the user and provide BSkyB with detailed reports of usage patterns.
The Entriq customer portfolio already includes NBC, UEFA, Channel 4 and BT Media and Broadcast.
