Russia’s Comstar-Direct, a unit of Sistema-backed Comstar-UTS, ended Q2 with 426,400 residential broadband Internet subscribers. The figure represented a 4% increase on the previous quarter and 42% year-on-year, and as of the end of June the company accounted for 33% of Moscow’s broadband subscriber market. The number of subscribers to Comstar-Direct’s double play package, which includes the IPTV service Stream TV, meanwhile stood at 99,100 as of June 30, 2007, or four times the total 12 months earlier. Comstar-Direct’s revenues for its residential data and broadband Internet services in Q2 2007 amounted to $25.8 million (€20.9 million), to which double play (Internet and IPTV) contributed $8.1 million. Comstar-UTS meanwhile posted revenues of $379.2 million in Q2 2007, or 32% more than in the corresponding period last year.
