The MediaFLO mobile broadcast platform will be demonstarted via two live, over-the-air demonstrations. A 6 MHz channel will carry 20 channels of (live) streaming TV. 20 pre-encoded clips and IP datacasting applications for sports, news and weather will be carried on an 8MHz channel on both UHF and L-Band.
There will also be a proof of concept demonstration illustrating how Qualcomm thinks mobile TV will evolve from simply a mobile version of TV programming, to a new mobile broadcast medium that viewers can interact with. These interactivity applications combine conVISUAL’s interactive TV platform with the MediaFLO platform.
In addition to mobile handsets, QUALCOMM will show its product demonstrations on non-commercial alternative devices called V-Cards.
