IBC 2007 (Stand 1.491)
Delivery of multiple HD video streams over the 5GHz band, and concurrent transmission of data applications over the 2.4GHz, all at wire line quality and speeds, is what Israel’s Metalink promises to show in its private meeting room at IBC this year.
Together with its partners, including a broad variety of leading manufacturers, Metalink will demonstrate wireless IP Set-top boxes, concurrent Dual-Band routers and other consumer products that integrate its WLANPlus wireless chipset, introduced last year, to provide high-speed wireless networking throughout the home.
Using technologies such as a Maximum Likelihood (ML) decoder, combined with an advanced Forward Error Correction (FEC) scheme and Low Density Parity Check (LDPC), Metalink claims to offer support for transmission speeds up to 300Mbps. This should enable reliable wireless video transfer around the house.
