SES Astra has secured a new contract for the distribution of its high-speed internet product ASTRA2Connect. H3 Netservice will offer customers in Germany a choice of three packages.
Customers will need a specially adapted satellite dish and a modem that will be made available through retailers or direct from H3. Astra is hoping that the satellite-based broadband infrastructure will appeal to the 2.9 million German households that still do not have any access to broadband internet.
A separate deal with the telecommunications provider Filiago was signed in March.
