Subscribers to Telia’s IPTV service in Sweden will be able to enjoy video on demand movies at the same time as they are distributed to the country’s video stores. Telia, its on demand supplier SF Anytime and the film studio Warner are to trial the earlier window on a number of video releases this autumn.
During July Telia customers set of new record for the on demand service with an average of almost 1,000 titles being rented each day.
At least eight blockbuster Hollywood movies will be released this autumn including 300, a fictional story about the battle of Thermopylae, which took place in 480 BC. The movie will be distributed over Telia’s on demand service by SF Anytime and available to viewers for SEK49 (€5.20). Viewers will be allowed to watch the film as many times as they like over a 20-hour period.
