Virgin Media’s acting CEO Neil Berkett has said he is treating his time in charge of the cablenet as if he were already in post. In an interview with the Financial Times Berkett said he intends to appoint “a couple of new people” into senior roles – including his own former post of chief operating officer. Berkett confirmed his own candidature for the top job.
Berkett said it was his intention to further accelerate delivery, arguing that the lost market share in pay-TV, broadband and telephony was “down to execution”.
The conversion of the last of three billing systems, following the merger of NTL and Telewest into what has become Virgin Media, will take place in the autumn.
