According to data published by the Hungarian National Communications Authority (NHH), the number of broadband Internet subscriptions in the country stood at 1.046 million at the end of Q2, or 15% more than three months earlier. Almost two thirds (695,000) were xDSL, while cable accounted for most of the remainder (350,000). The NHH has also just published details of the tender for both national digital terrestrial TV (DVB-T) and radio (T-DAB) free-to-air (FTA) broadcasting services. DTT services will be launched on three muxes in 2008, with DVB-H allocated space on the second of these.
