The much-hyped new Polish business channel TVN CNBC Biznes will not launch today (August 20) as had initially been expected. Local reports indicate that the service still has to receive a licence from the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), which will next meet on either August 28 or 29. However, the new channel will start producing programmes today, some of which will be aired on the news channel TVN24 but without the TVN CNBC Biznes logo. It also appears that the re-launch of the rival channel TV Biznes, which is now owned by Polsat, may now not take place in September as had previously been expected. Industry analysts believe that while the two channels are unlikely to command a combined audience share of more than 1% of the national market, they will prove to be good investments for their respective owners.
