Verimatrix will launch renewable software based content security solutions for cable IPTV, mobile TV and hybrid networks. According to Verimatrix, its new VCAS for cable IPTV leverages an innovative “DOCSIS Bypass” solution, which converts an existing cable system to an asymmetric IP network perfectly suited for IPTV services. However, it also works with both the US DOCSIS and EuroDOCSIS standards.
With VCAS for DVB, the vendor will be demonstrating its solution for unified content security on hybrid network architectures using a combination of MultiCAS/DVB support, which uses standardized DVB Simulcrypt, for broadcast channels and sophisticated Video-on-Demand (VOD) service and key management over the broadband network. This allows operators to securely deploy innovative combinations of broadcasts over satellite, cable or terrestrial, adding premium IPTV on-demand services over (other) broadband networks.
Mobile TV is a natural progression for conditional access vendors, and this seems especially true for the latest group of providers that have largely focussed on the IP and IPTV world.
Verimatrix will also be demonstrating its conditional access for mobile services including 3G streaming media delivery, DVB-H and seamless in-home networking solutions. “Using a unified content security and subscriber authentication approach, operators can now construct highly competitive, multi-network and multi-screen service offerings”, Verimatrix said.
