The DTT switchover in Austria is moving ahead according to plan, according to the Digitales Fernsehen Förder GmbH (DFFG). On September 24 all analogue transmitters in Klagenfurt and Graz will be switched off, followed by Vienna, St. Pölten and Eisenstadt on October 22. By that time all analogue transmissions in the country will have ceased.
“Within a year after the launch of digital terrestrial television in Austria we will reach 75% of the Austrian population,” according to DFG’s Michael Wagenhofer. Initially, only one single multiplex is available, but a second mux will follow later this year.
