Versatel Telecom International N.V. today announced that it has been approached by several parties that have shown interest in its Belgian operations. Further announcements will be made, if and when appropriate, according to a statement released by the company.
The confirmation follows news reports last week about a possible interest from Dutch telecoms operator KPN to buy the Belgian assets of Tele2.
KPN today confirmed it is indeed interest in acquiring Tele2’s Belgian broadband and telephony operations. A deal worth approximately 100 million Euro. The telco denied any interest in French mobile operator Bouygues Telecom
KPN currently offers mobile telephony through its BASE Subsidiary, it sold off its Belgian ADSL and fixed telephony operations to Scarlet Telecom a few years ago.
