Dutch operator KPN said it will launch its DVB-H service in The Netherlands during the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The new service will use the infrastructure of KPN’s Digitenne DTT service. No details about packages, subscription plans and services have been released.
Through its Digitenne subsidiary KPN is the sole licence holder for DVB-H transmissions in The Netherlands. It is expected the company has to sublicense its mobile TV product to other mobile operators in the country, Vodafone, T-Mobile and Orange.
