C-Cor presents its IBC showcases

August 14, 2007 12.39 Europe/London By Robert Briel

C-COR Incorporated will showcase its open standards-based infrastructure solutions designed to expand and improve the management and delivery of consumer applications for network service providers at IBC2007.  C-COR will highlight its holistic solutions for delivering next-generation on demand and advertising to devices throughout the home, expanding existing network capacity for the delivery of new services, including IPTV and network digital video recording, with the back office support systems service providers need for profitable business operations. C-COR products and customer demonstrations will be on display in Hall 1, Stand 550.

C-COR’s IBC demonstrations include:
Delivering New Advertising and On Demand Services (including C-COR’s IPTV subject expertise)
? DOCSIS Bypass  speeds the delivery of cable IPTV content to any IP device in the home and reduces operating costs by decoupling DOCSIS core components and delivering IP video over QAMs using the DOCSIS return path.
? Linear and Dynamic On Demand Advertising – one platform that delivers linear advertising, with a time-based cue tone solution running PAL content along with real-time, and advanced on demand advertising that dynamically updates ad content.
? End-to-End IPTV Delivery – open and modular end-to-end IPTV service using C-COR’s Unified Video Management and Delivery Platform. Works with any set-top box application, subscriber and content management system, conditional access and advertising system.
? Unified On Demand Platform – integrates the market’s most scalable on demand and ad insertion servers into a common and interoperable hardware and software platform to provide complete service and content delivery of on demand, time-shifted TV, switched digital video, and linear and advanced advertising capabilities from one management and delivery platform. ONO’s ‘ojo’ on demand service offering will be showcased using SlingBox.

Holistically Managing New and Existing Services: OSS
? ServAssure – Policy Service Manager – policy server that dynamically allocates bandwidth and ensures quality of service for priority applications.
? ServAssure – CableEdge – An intelligent network management and planning software suite that collects and analyzes network traffic and performance data from cable modems, cable modem termination systems, and other DOCSIS-compliant devices.
? WorkAssure – Mobile Workforce Manager (MWM)  – Integrated with C-COR’s CableEdge product, MWM allows cable operators to tie together network operations and enables cable technicians and installers to proactively address customer service needs remotely via mobile handsets.
? ServAssure – Network Service Manager (NSM) – Automates management of triple play services, reducing the mean time to repair outages and truck rolls.

Maximizing Capacity of the Existing Network
? C-COR’s new Opti Max? 2100 1GHz Segmentable Cabinet Node ˆ A cabinet node that extends bandwidth to 1GHz and expands forward capacity for European service providers offering additional or expanded services.
? CORWave Transmitter – Provides more wavelengths on existing fiber and enables forward and reverse path segmentation to reach more communities.
? eQAM – The high-density and energy-efficient 1GHz EdgeQAM helps to future-proof HFC access networks by enabling efficient delivery of on demand and switched digital video services.  The eQAM can be installed alongside transmitters to greatly simplify headend cabling and configuration management. ? CORView CHP Network Management Software Package – A comprehensive monitoring of all devices installed in the CHP Max5000? chassis in an operator’s network.
? Opti Max? Nodes and Flex Max? Amplifiers – expands existing capacity to give more Bandwidth, More Wavelengths and more Service Groups.
? CHP Max5000 Headend Platform – The industry’s smallest footprint and highest density headend platform offers full 1GHz bandwidth capacity. C-COR is the industry’s leading supplier of 1GHz transmission equipment.
