UPC Austria said it has acquired cable network Telesystem Tirol for an undisclosed sum from the Moser Holding, a family owned business with interests in newspapers, online, printing plants and radio stations. The system serves about 50,000 homes in the area between the municipalities of Zirl and St. Johann in Tirol and employs 69 people.
Some 25,000 customers subscribe to broadband access via the network, which has been supplied in cooperation with Chello, and some 10,000 homes take the cable telephony service.
