Germany’s Axel Springer has posted consolidated revenues of €1,208.5 million during the first six months of the year, or 3.1% more than in the corresponding period in 2006. Its growth was generated principally by its international operations, which saw revenues grow by 25.9% year-on-year to €185.8 million and accounted for a new record share of 19.4% of the total. Axel Springer’s TV interests outside Germany include the Turkish broadcaster Dogan TV, in which it secured a 25% stake in November 2006 for €375 million. Although it had also looked to have bought a 25.1% stake in Poland’s Polsat shortly afterwards, the deal has since stalled.
