France Telecom has completed the acquisition of Ya.com for €320 million. The deal, which was first announced in June, will place the French company in a good position to compete with the Spanish incumbent Telefónica. According to France Telecom, Ya.com currently accounts for around 18% of Spain’s ADSL market, with around 1.1 million subscribers. Ya.com, which like Telefónica and the alternative telco Jazztel provides TV services, was formerly owned by Deutsche Telekom.
