Shares in Premiere climbed by 4% on Monday following speculation that the French media group and Canal+ owner Vivendi was interested in acquiring the company. Financial Times Deutschland reported that Vivendi was prepared to offer up to €27 per share in the company.
At lunchtime on Tuesday Premiere was trading at €19.89 up a further 0.61% on Monday’s close.
In its recent second quarter figures, Premiere recorded subscriber numbers of 3.473 million customers and revenues of €229.1 million.
Neither Vivendi nor Premiere has made any official comment on the matter.
