Grupo Prisa has paid €144.9 million to increase its stake in Portugal’s Media Capital from 73% to 94.39%. Media Capital’s interests include the free-to-air TV1, which claimed an average daily audience share of 33.4% (36.6% in primetime) in HI 1007 and is the leading broadcaster in Portugal. It also owns several radio stations and magazines, along with an ISP and content provider named IOL. Grupo Prisa, on the other hand, includes Sogecable, the company that operates the Spanish DTH platform Sogecable, in its portfolio.
