South Korean receiver manufacturer Humax has signed a $30 million (€21.77m) contract to supply set-top boxes to the Turkish broadcaster Dogan TV. Humax will supply the digital set-top boxes for Dogan’s new satellite TV service DSMART before the end of the year.
“Based on the supply contract, we are going to establish a strategic partnership there and expand our product line-up in the Turkish market to meet rising demand,” Humax CEO Byun Dae-gyu said in a statement.
Earlier this year Dogan signed a separate deal with NDS for the deployment of a series of technologies.
Dogan TV encompasses three FTA national TV channels, Star TV, CNN Turk, Kanal D and 15 thematic channels, as well as two services (EuroD and EuroStar) aimed specifically at viewers outside Turkey.
