A report by the Polish Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) says that the country’s broadband market has experienced unprecedented growth in the last 18 months. It has also been helped in no small part by alternative carriers securing access to TPSA’s infrastructure as from the beginning of this year. GTS Energis and Netia were the first to make use of the incumbent’s network, and have since been followed by Tele2 Polska and – as from June – Telefonia Dialog. Several other carriers have signed agreements with TPSA but have yet to launch services. The UKE says that competition in the sector is now stronger than ever, with providers soon likely to also offer their subscribers VOD and IPTV.
