Internet TV provider Brightcove has announced plans to expand further into Europe through the opening of a new central London office. The US company has also announced two new UK clients; the publisher Hachette Filipacchi Media UK and BET Networks.
“We saw that the market we have been building in the US was highly applicable in Europe and other parts of the world,” Brightcove chairman & CEO Jeremy Allaire told Broadband TV News. “The consumer behaviour in terms of time spent online, broadband penetration and growth in online adverting is running in the UK at a faster pace than anywhere else in the world. Allaire added that UK marketplace was home to more innovation within the advertising sector due in part to the number agencies that are based there.
Hachette Filipacchi is best known for Elle magazine and the popular women’s title will launch elleuk.com featuring daily internet video coverage on fashion, beauty, style and travel.
Brightcove is also behind the launch of BETonBlast.co.uk, an online channel that will supplement the launch of the BET Networks channel in the UK market later this year.
The Brightcove client base also includes BSkyB, CBS, Discovery, National Geographic, Sony and Warner Music Group.
