The findings of a study by PWC entitled Global entertainment and media outlook: 2007-2011 show that the number of homes receiving cable and satellite services in the Czech Republic is likely to increase annually by around 10% over the next four years. A local press report summarising the study says that the number of such homes should fast be approaching the 2 million mark in 2011, as opposed to last year’s total of 1.26 million. By then, there are likely to be 700,000 DTH and 1.05 million cable homes in the country. However, cable penetration –23.3% in 2011 – will still be much lower than that projected for Hungary (64.7%) and Romania (58%).
