The alternative telco Netia is expected to unveil a strategy later today (July 9) designed to make it one of the leading providers of broadband Internet services in Poland. Netia, which lists Novator Telecom Poland (27.25%), SISU Capital (10.03%) and Third Avenue Management (18.41%) as its principal shareholders, already has 135,000 broadband subscribers, of who 70,000 are served through the company’s own network. Its nearest competitors are Dialog and GTS Energis, in a market dominated by the incumbent Telekomunikacja Polska (TPSA). Late last week Netia signed an interconnection agreement with TPSA that should come into effect at the end of September.
