Ofcom has published details of the digital services that will be available after analogue switch off in areas served by the 81 transmitters that already carry digital multiplexes. The plan reveals that in many areas replacement aerials will be needed because the digital channels fall outside of the frequency range used by the new services. However, it is unlikely that a second upgrade will be needed if the aerial has already been upgraded for the purpose of receiving DTT.
All three transmitters in the Anglia region, and significant parts of the Yorkshire and Central regions will require new aerials if they have not already been upgraded. However, the Granada and Border regions require no upgrade.
