Swedish DTT platform Boxer has announced a modest second quarter increase in subscribers of just 6,000. The second half of the year has recorded a total of 24,000 pay-TV subscriptions on the DTT platform, although many households will be drawn to the available free-TV services including those from the public broadcaster SVT.
“A large number of Swedes have acquired digital TV, and what is now driving growth is further subscriptions and services for customers who already have Boxer’s basic package,” said Henrik Skullman, Boxer’s acting CEO.
Earlier this week Boxer announced the introduction of an extended EPG – seven days as opposed to the 24 hours available for non-subscribers – indicating the value that Boxer is now building for its subscriber base
