Poland’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has announced that it is to scrap an agreement with the Polish Post Office allowing it collect receiver licence fees. It is expected that deal, which apparently secured the Post Office PLN50 million (€13.3 million) a year, will be replaced by a new one offering less favourable terms to the Post Office. Separately, the KRRiT has withdrawn the licence granted to the public broadcaster’s planned entertainment channel TVP Rozrywka. It was due to go on air on January 1 this year but has failed to appear.
