According to chairman Guillaume de Posch, ProSiebenSat1 plans to import two successful SBS formats – the music channel The Voice and a “women’s channel” – into Germany.
SBS has been very successful with localised The Voice channels across Scandinavia. Originally a radio station in Copenhagen, The Voice is today the main music video channel in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, making life difficult for MTV. Now that ProSiebenSat1 has acquired SBS, there a plans to export the format to Germany, according to De Posch.
SBS has also been extremely successful with a “women’s channel” format, originally pioneered by Net 5 in The Netherlands and also successfully applied in Belgium (vijftv) and Denmark.
