Tele2 has announced plans become the largest alternative provider of broadband services in Poland. It will shortly start offering its customers Internet access at speeds of between 1Mbps and 6Mpbs, charging them fees of from PLN15 (€3.97) to PLN35 a month. The Swedish company lists Poland, along with Germany, Austria and Hungary, as part of its Central European operations. It has been providing fixed-line services in the country since 2003. Tele2 pulled out of the Czech Republic last year but continues to strengthen its regional operations, particularly in Russia.
