A Polish parliamentary committee will start work this autumn on amendments to legislation governing receiver licence fees. Local reports indicate that it is considering a reduction in the fees and including them as part of electricity bills. At present only around 44% of Poland’s 13.5 million households pay receiver licence fees, which cost PLN17 (€4.48) a month for ownership of both radio and TV sets. They account for around a quarter of the Polish national public broadcaster TVP’s revenues.
