The European Court of Justice has announced that the Czech Telecom Office (CTU) had the right to insist the incumbent Czech telco Cesky Telecom – now Telefónica O2 – fully open up its network to competition. The CTU’s original ruling, which was disputed by Cesky Telecom, was made after a complaint from the alternative telco Czech on Line (Volny), which was greatly limited in the ADSL service it could provide. The European Court’s verdict will now be considered by the Prague Municipal Court.
