The French AB Groupe has pulled the plug on its German subsidiary, the documentary channel Terranova. The channel has been on the air since September 15, 2004, and will cease operations on July 10. The company said it did not want to sustain continuing losses of the channel. It quoted the high costs of operating and the huge discounts it had to give to advertisers as the main reason for closing down the channel.
