Canal Digital is launching a high definition package to its cable customers in Norway. The service is being made available to an initial 120,000 subscribers in Oslo, Bærum and Follo, before being rolled out to all 400,000 subscribers.
Svein Erik Davidsen, managing director, Canal Digital Norge said there was a pent up demand for HD because people had purchased so-called HD Ready TV displays when in reality they were HD empty.
Subscribers can enjoy a line-up comprising Canal+ Sport HD, Canal+ Film HD, Discovery HD and Voom HD. Canal Digital launched its HD service to Norwegian DTH subscribers on January 1.
