French broadcast regulator CSA has announced the successful candidates for the regional DTT multiplex in the Ile-de-France. Three channels will each get their own multiplex while a further four will share their capacity.
Dedicated channels have been awarded to Coté Seine (société IDF TV, IDF 1 (société Ensemble TV) and LTF (Société locale de télévision). The timeshare channel will be split between Demain IDF (société Demain), BDM TV (association Banlieues du monde), Cinaps TV (association Cinaps TV) and Télé Bocal (association Bocal).
The CSA says that its decision was based on the economic viability of the projects, previous market experience, and whether the channels would bring diversity to the French media scene.
Final authorisation is expected by the end of July and channels could be on the air by the end of the year.
