UPC Romania’s general manager Richard Anderson has said the company will spend €40 million this year on upgrading its communication network and introducing a national invoicing system. Speaking to the local press, he added that this would allow UPC Romania to offer triple play services in all medium and large sized locations the company is present in by the end of the year. Anderson also said that UPC Romania is likely to see the number of subscribers to its VoIP service double in the next six months to around 130,000. It addition, it may apply for a WiMax licence. UPC Romania’s parent company Liberty Global is understood to have already invested over $1 billion (€742.9 million) in the country.
